Before meeting
- Take time to get to know the person in the app.
- Watch for requests for money, rushed intimacy, inconsistent stories, or pressure to move the conversation off-platform.
- Tell a trusted friend where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return.
- Choose a busy public place and arrange your own transportation.
During a meeting
- Keep your phone charged and your personal belongings with you.
- Do not leave food or drinks unattended.
- Avoid sharing your home address or other sensitive information until trust has been established.
- Leave at any time if you feel uncomfortable. You never owe anyone an explanation for protecting yourself.
